COPLEY- On November 14, the Copley-Fairlawn Board of Education approved a $452,500 agreement with Kustom Fencing Co. for the installation of new landscaping throughout the area. The fencing upgrades are just one of many improvements that were made possible by voters ‘ approval of a $50 million, 30-year bond issue in 2022.
The Copley High School (CHS) stadium will also be updated, according to Superintendent Brian Poe, including the doorway, field house, and light, while the current industry will remain in place. On November 14, this neighborhood held a pioneering service for the venue project.
All buildings ‘ restrooms will also be renovated, including the bus car, restaurant, kitchen, and high school at Copley-Fairlawn Middle School, the thick school’s turf field and rubberized surface track, as well as parking lots and fencing throughout the neighborhood.
Vasco Sports Contractors is awaiting approval of many allows before work is started, according to an update from Poe to the table on the middle-class track and field jobs. He continued by saying that because of the seasonality of cement production, the fieldwork is likely to be finished second. According to Poe, if the venture delays persist, the district will consider various locations in addition to installing the turf field in time for the spring lacrosse season.
Poe remarked, “It’s not something I’m thrilled with, but regrettably we have to face the fact.”
At the conference, the school board even gave its approval to the state’s most recent five-year forecast. The area is currently experiencing its second year of bad spending, according to Treasury John Wheadon, and an operating levy will likely be required by November 2026.

Five people spoke on the subject of changing the Copley-Fairlawn Schools ‘ Indians mascot during the open comment portion of the meeting, with an equivalent number in favor of and against it. One resident also presented the board with a survey of 500 people’s opinions.
The people of Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools students, professors, and chaperones who were involved in the fatal vehicle collision on November 14 were also conveyed condolences by Poe on behalf of the city.
