I’m going to be completely honest. Being the first Black person in this place is a large load, but some people are meant to carry it, Smith said, sounding excited. I firmly believe that it is an essay that was given to me, and I am capable of carrying the burden. I am merely thrilled. I have a strong passion for our people and people in general, so it makes me happy to have the chance to influence the neighborhood and the people we serve.
