Several organizations in Northwest Indiana have recently benefited from substantial financial support, receiving grants totaling $42,500 from First Financial Bank and the First Foundation. The beneficiaries include the Gary Community Partnership Corp., Greater Hammond Community Services, and Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana, among others. This funding effort is part of a larger grant program by the First Financial Foundation, distributing $510,000 across Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky, marking it as their most extensive grant distribution to date.

The Regional Development Company, based in Valparaiso, shared its annual achievements and leadership updates during a conference at Byway Brewing in Hammond. The organization announced its new board of directors for 2023, including Mike Schneider of Wintrust Bank as Chairman and Steve Kring of Horizon Bank as Vice Chairman. The RDC, a nonprofit organization focused on regional economic development, also welcomed new members to its Loan Committee, enhancing its leadership team to drive forward its development initiatives.
