Transforming Lives and Landscapes in West Louisville
Scheduled to open at the year’s end, the Norton Healthcare Goodwill Opportunity Campus in west Louisville marks a significant milestone in community revitalization and social support. Covering 125,000 square feet, the facility not only transforms the physical landscape around 28th and Broadway but also promises profound social impact. Amy Lutrell, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, expressed the organization’s commitment to elevating individuals from poverty to middle-class stability through comprehensive support services.
A Hub of Hope and Support
The new campus will serve as the central office for Goodwill Industries of Kentucky while dedicating most of its space to a variety of community services designed to uplift individuals. Among the facility’s unique features are partnerships with eight community organizations, including the University of Louisville School of Dentistry offering affordable dental care and Kentuckiana Works’ one-stop career center, which will provide critical employment resources. These services are tailored to foster independence and economic mobility among underserved populations.
Community Engagement and Financial Goals
As Goodwill prepares to open the campus to the public by mid-February, with a grand opening slated for March in alignment with its centennial in Kentucky, the focus remains on community and legacy. The campus is part of a $15 million capital campaign, now just $2.4 million short of its target, thanks to significant contributions from Goodwill employees. These contributions reflect the transformative impact of Goodwill’s programs, turning beneficiaries into benefactors, committed to fostering an enduring community resource.
