To function Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Federal Credit Union Educational will open a fresh mobile branch.
Federal Credit Union Educational (EdFed) is opening a new mobile branch in Miami, Florida (November 21, 2023), to serve Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS). The smart branch may allow EdFed members to start accounts, perform transactions, and take part in financial education activities on campus thanks to volunteers from high school students.
According to EdFed President and CEO Mike DiBenedetto, “We are excited to make this significant investment in our relationship with Miami-Dade County Public Schools.” With our economic education program, “our new smart branch may assist our student volunteers gain real-world professional experience while even learning the value of saving and managing money.”
At 12 senior high schools in Miami-Dade County, EdFed offers on-site financial literacy workshops, mentoring opportunities, and promotional events through its Credit Union Professional & Educational Development Program (CUPED).
According to Dr. Lupe Ferran Diaz, Executive Director of the Department of Career and Technical Education at M-DCPS, “Our kids are gaining valuable knowledge through the CUPED program that they can take with them after they graduate.” “EdFed is giving our students crucial living skills that they can use throughout their life in addition to career skills.”
On November 29, 2023, at 10 am, Dr. Jose L. Dotres, M. DCPS Superintendent, may make an appearance at a particular ribbon-cutting ceremony at Miami Edison Senior High School to introduce EdFed’s wireless unit to M-DCPS management, students, and employees.
