Academic All- District ® has five names

The Denison University men’s hockey team named top forth Rohan Tripathy, young forwards Corey Brunner, Ben Goeller, and Cameron McIntosh, as well as young keeper Cole Trigg, to the Academic All-District® Team, which was chosen by College Sports Communicators.

A science big with a 3.58 combined GPA, Rohan Tripathy was inducted into Denison’s Chi Alpa Sigma school next year, named to the 2021–22 and 2022–23 North Coast Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll, and has since joined the Academic All–District® Team twice. Tripathy played in all 20 games for the Big Red this period, making seven starts in addition to scoring three goals, adding one support, and finishing second on the group with seven points. Tripathy, a top team captain who played in all but two of Denison’s 57 games over the course of his career, began all three of the postseason games this year while scoring the game-tying goal in the 13th minute against No. Connecticut College, number7. Tripathy has volunteered at neighborhood sports shelters since high school and is an executive part of a dance workout that raised money for the Children’s Miracle Network.

Economic finance major Corey Brunner has a 3.54 GPA. This year, he scored three goals and two aids, finishing third on the group with eight points. Brunner, a part of the 2022–23 NCAC Academic Honor Roll, has developed into his position on the group by starting in 19 of 20 matches this time after playing seven matches in his first month.

With a 3.73 GPA and starting in each of the 19 games he participated in, biology big Ben Goeller was named Second-Team All-NCAC this season. Goeller played a key role in Denison’s 1–0 victory at Marietta College on September 6 and was the Big Red midfielder who allowed the fewest goals in the event this year. He was a Denison Top-50 Scholar-Athlete in 2022–2023 and on the NCAC Academic Honor Roll. He works with the Denison Boys and Girls Club, serves as a youth football volunteer instructor in Granville, and participates in Veterans Day activities in his neighborhood.

With a 3.63 GPA and Third- Team All-NCAC recognition this year for the second consecutive year, Cameron McIntosh is enrolled in the program. He was even named to the NCAC All – Tournament Team. He made his debut in 18 of 20 games, totaling four ambitions and two assists while finishing next on the staff with 10 factors and taking the lead with three game-winning goals. After scoring two activity winners in a single month, McIntosh was named NCAC Athlete of the Week on October 17. McIntosh was a part of the NCAC Academic Honor Roll for 2022–2023 and is currently two-time crew member for the Academic All–District® Team. He has volunteered at Sunday services during cathedral and is a Worthington United Youth Soccer volunteer.

Cole Trigg has a 3.73 GPA and is majoring in international commerce. As he assisted in leading a defense that scored nine strikeouts and held competitors to only 0.85 goals and 9.6 shots per game this season, Trg is one of only three Big Red players to have made all 20 starts this year. Out of 57 job competitions, Trg has participated in 53, beginning in 40. He served on the NCAC Academic Honor Roll for 2022–2023, volunteers at the Denison Boys and Girls Club, the Science Museum for two seasons, and the Silicon Valley Bike Coalition. He also serves as a student presenter for the DNISON Sports Network.

Additionally, in 2021 and 2023, all five people contributed to the Big Red’s success in winning the NCAC Tournament Championship.

The best student athletes in the country are honored for their combined academic and extracurricular accomplishments by the People’s soccer teams from the 2023 AcademicAll-District®, which were chosen by College Sports Communicators. Honorees from the Academic All-District® are eligible for promotion to the CSC Academic all-America ® ballot. Early in December, the Academic All-America ® honorees for the first, second, and third teams will be revealed.
