The momentum of Ramadan 2024 is being utilized by Home Credit Indonesia (Home Credit), a financing company focusing on consumer needs, to share with the public. Home Credit is providing iftar meals and financial literacy ebooks to 2,500 participants.

Home Credit is distributing food in 35 cities or districts in Indonesia as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) movement. In Jakarta, Home Credit is collaborating with Kito Rato, a group of people with disabilities from South Tangerang, who are interested in distributing food in a number of Child Friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA) and main roads.

On this occasion, Home Credit’s employees are stepping out of their regular office jobs and volunteering to provide food assistance to those in need, according to Home Credit Chief Marketing & Digital Officer, Rah Chuan, who issued a statement on Thursday, March 23.

“This action furthers our commitment to the social aspect of Indonesia, which is in line with the implementation of ESG values that businesses have adopted since we began operating in Indonesia in 2013,” he said.

In addition to providing food, Home Credit is also distributing financial education ebooks to the general public during this month of Ramadan. This pocketbook, titled “This DoIT Smart,” provides a summary of financial courses that are frequently shared via social media or through classes at various locations, including universities and communities.

From this guide, the community can understand and learn about basic financial education such as accounting, emergency funds, investment, and invoice management. Through several financial literacy courses, Home Credit has reached more than 6 million people by 2023.

Ramadan is also the most significant time of year for Indonesians to make purchases in the first quarter of 2024, in addition to the shared momentum. Research conducted by the Market Research Home Credit team shows that 80 percent of respondents think Ramadan is the most attractive moment for shopping, higher than Chinese New Year (11 percent), Valentine’s Day (5 percent), and Elections (4 percent).

Respondents also revealed in the same study that they had several plans for Ramadan. These plans include traveling (32 percent), opening new businesses (31 percent), buying new clothes (27 percent), and purchasing various items such as smartphones, gadgets, furniture, laptops, or computers (22 percent).

Home Credit is committed to providing numerous financial services in the form of money borrowing to meet the needs of the community by granting access to various items like phones, electronics, and laptops in order to launch new businesses in the month of Ramadan 2024.

Home Credit has an appealing offer in the form of 0% interest and the first installment free, all to make it easier for people to access smartphone and tablet funding.
