Through Zoom, a new relationship will offer complimentary financial education courses to the community on Monday nights through May 20 at the Waterloo UNI-CUE office.
These free lessons will be provided by a brand-new Cedar Valley nonprofit. It’s called The Giving Solution, which is teaming up with UNI-CUE.
UNI-CUE is the University of Northern Iowa’s Center for Urban Education. It is partnering with Cedar Valley financial consultant Mike Finley, also known as The Crazy Person in the Pink Wig, for his special attention-getting style.
From April 1 through May 20, the general public is invited to attend eight one-hour financial education courses on Monday evenings. Citizens may attend any or all of the courses, free of charge.
Various topics will be discussed, including buying a car, home purchases, building credit, investing, saving, and retirement accounts.
UNI-CUE Executive Director Robert Smith Jr. and Mike Finley stopped by the KWWL-TV studio to explain the complimentary classes for this week’s edition of The Steele Report.
Members can meet online via Zoom at the Waterloo UNI-CUE location at 800 Sycamore Street, or in person at the free lessons.
