This global campaign is dedicated to ingraining financial wisdom in young minds, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge for prudent financial decision-making. The initiative aims to fortify economic stability and resilience among the younger generation, underlining the event’s theme: “Protect Your Cash, Secure Your Future.”
Leaders Advocate for Early Financial Education
At the week’s events, Jude Chiemeka, the Acting CEO of NGX, addressed the critical nature of financial literacy as a foundational skill for youth. He pointed out that the initiative not only prepares them to manage future financial challenges but also enriches their life quality. Chiemeka pledged NGX’s ongoing support to these educational efforts. Lanre Gbadamosi from the CBN introduced attendees to the Sabi Money Platform, which encompasses 15 financial literacy topics crucial for developing early financial planning habits among children.

The forum provided a platform for financial experts to impart valuable economic insights. Chinwe Egwim of Coronation Merchant Bank emphasized understanding the broader economic environment and its impact on personal finances. Adaora Obikili from Chapel Hill Denham discussed the advantages of early investing and the critical nature of emergency savings. Onome Komolafe of CSCS elucidated on the central role of the securities clearing system in ensuring secure and efficient stock market transactions, likening it to a bank for the stock market.
