A golden prize has been awarded to QNET’s “FinGreen” YouTube video showcasing its financial literacy program at the 2023 MarCom Awards, a renowned international creative competition.
There were 6,500 submissions this season, including the film “FinGreen: Seeding Financial Literacy for a Brighter Future.” It highlights QNET’s program to increase financial literacy in poor areas through peer-to-peer training.
Only one in three people worldwide are financially literate, according to the video’s opening data. Therefore, by addressing inequality and fostering good employment and economic growth prospects, FinGreen shows how it aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
FinGreen, which was introduced in Turkey and Nigeria in 2022 and was later expanded to Ghana, mainly focuses on women and young people in developing nations.
Given the historical barriers women face in accessing financial companies and the widespread lack of fundamental economic knowledge, QNET CEO Malou Caluza emphasized in a press release that FinGreen is tailored for women and children in emerging markets.
Caluza is of the opinion that the MarCom prize confirms the video’s skillful portrayal of FinGreen’s mission to uplift communities and enable people.
According to research from the International Federation of Accountants, people who lack financial education are more likely to commit fraud, have higher debt, and risk bankruptcy.
To find underserved areas in need of financial inclusion and training, the FinGreen system works with regional experts. Twenty youth officials were trained in Nigeria alone during the first step, and in the second step they served as “ambassadors” to instruct more than 600 younger Nigerians in financial education.
Mogbeyiro Gbemisola, a 17-year-old Nigerian pupil, talked about how FinGreen instilled the value of wealth supervision and her dedication to educating people in her neighborhood to live better lives.
Similar to FinGreen, Olaniyi Shalom Anuoluwapo, a 20-year-old Nigerian leader of Teen Girls Entourage, claimed that she changed the way she managed her wealth, encouraged her home to practice saving, and changed their financial habits.
QNET intends to expand FinGreen to Morocco in the near future after being motivated by the project’s success in Nigeria, Ghana, and Turkey.
