The second annual Payaza Hackathon, held on November 22-23, 2023, successfully spotlighted the burgeoning talent within Africa’s tech and financial sectors. The hackathon featured intense competition among five talented teams: Peerloom, Payverdict, Naya, Iya Finance, and Enigma, each bringing forth ideas that exemplified the potential of AI to transform financial services uniquely. The culmination of the Payaza Hackathon 2.0 saw Team Iya Finance win the grand prize of $5,000 for their AI-driven financial management tool designed to enhance financial literacy and personal savings. Teams Naya and Enigma also impressed the judges, securing the first and second runner-up positions with prizes of $3,000 and $1,500, respectively.
