Financial education is already a prerequisite for graduation in the economy training, as the Long Island Council for Social Studies has noted.
One of four devices in the social research program for scores 9 through 12 on economics is devoted to” Individual Responsibility and the Business.” Among the course’s issues are debt management, credit cards options, interest rates, borrowing, and lending.
When establishing goals and budget for expected savings and wasting, good personal financial practices consider wealth and income, the present and future, and risk factors. Predatory lending techniques goal and have an impact on those who are least educated and least able to pay for them.
We commend the Blue Ribbon Commission on Graduation Procedures and the New York State Education Department for emphasizing the necessity of financial education for completion. Teachers are now ready to impart this knowledge. A final assessment for the program should be implemented to make sure that financial literacy is properly learned.

I concur that we should promote financial literacy in schools because some students appear to be illiterate in fundamental skills like checking their accounts and avoiding debt. Perhaps more importantly, I suggest that we include our elected officials in Washington, who reportedly not received the fundamentals of financial literacy.

Regarding Long Island’s energy potential, the Long beach Association is being dishonest.
LI Business, February 2; “Housing, child care best LIA’s agenda.” Given that PSEG-Long Island is a significant political pressure on Long Island and in Albany, it should come as no surprise.
Requesting more research is a prolonging strategy. All findings from extensive research on deregulation and the public-private type indicate that Long Island Power Authority customers pay higher rates.
The LIPA Public Power Act, in the opinion of some, is a novel and test-driven type. But, it applies to all other officially owned utilities as well. LIPA is a public power now. The test is a public-private partnership. KeySpan is an unnecessary expense, a loss, and it must stop, as our personal experience with it have shown us. By eliminating PSEG’s enormous corporate earnings, we had save$ 80 million a month.
According to studies, ratepayers gain from public utilities in terms of effectiveness, dependability, responsibilities, and value. These advantages will be present in a LIPA that is solely in charge of managing the network, along with improved efficiency, more localized control, and lower rates.
Our energy system may serve its ratepayers rather than PSEG owners and those who gain financially from their interactions with the company.

Unsafe weapons store and preventing a 15-year-old from hurting people were the two carelessnesses that contributed to the mass killing at Oxford High School in Pontiac, Michigan, on November 30. Red colors were present.
Will Long Island be our last resort? Did we join the growing list of places where there have been large shootings?
Protection should not be solely in charge. As involved citizens, we also have a responsibility. The laws governing gun safety should be taken into account in our school districts ‘ people training programs. To provide a forum for kids and other people in the school area to discuss their concerns, they may make use of all available resources.
They may discover what steps can be taken to stop gun violence in this area. There are no better places to go than our location schools, which now put a lot of effort into protecting kids.
