Expanding Financial Education Across Borders
During Financial Literacy Month, Rock The Street, Wall Street (RTSWS) is excited to announce the formation of its Canadian Advisory Council to extend its impactful financial literacy programs to high school girls in Toronto. The council boasts prominent figures such as Netila Demneri from Russell Reynolds and Amy Miller, former Global Head of Loan Syndications at Scotiabank, among others. This initiative is part of RTSWS’s broader effort to integrate financial and investment mathematics into the education of young women, supporting them from high school through to their early careers in finance.
Fostering a Foundation for Future Success in STEM
RTSWS is committed to encouraging young women to explore and excel in STEM fields, particularly in financial mathematics. The program’s success is evident as alumnae are five times more likely to pursue university degrees in finance, economics, or related fields compared to the national average for female students. This month, RTSWS also celebrated the launch of its Alumnae & Career Center, sponsored by ING Americas, which is designed to support students as they transition from education to professional environments.
Building Strong Community and Corporate Partnerships
The establishment of the RTSWS Canadian Advisory Council marks a significant milestone in creating enduring partnerships between the financial and academic communities in Toronto. Ingrid Montarras, the first RTSWS School Champion from Harbord Collegiate Institute, highlighted the value of these collaborations in enhancing financial education and opening career pathways for students. The advisory council’s role is pivotal in ensuring that the program not only educates but also empowers students by connecting them with mentors and leaders in the finance industry.
