Recently, they introduced “Money & You: Seniors Edition,” an online program designed to empower the elderly with knowledge to manage their finances confidently, complementing the well-established “Money and Youth: A Guide to Financial Literacy” used widely in Canadian schools.
Empowering Indigenous Communities with Tailored Financial Tools
In an exciting development for 2024, CFEE and IG are set to launch a new educational resource specifically designed for Indigenous youth. This initiative reflects a tailored approach to address the unique needs of Indigenous students and educators, with plans to pilot the program in five Indigenous schools. This effort underscores IG’s commitment to inclusivity in financial education, ensuring that young Indigenous Canadians receive guidance that resonates with their cultural and community contexts, thereby promoting better financial outcomes.
Expanding Support to First Nations Communities
IG Wealth Management and Prosper Canada are expanding their efforts to support financial stability in First Nations communities through the “Building Financial Wellness in First Nations Project.” This project builds upon successful collaborations that have already provided substantial financial benefits and support to several communities in Manitoba and Ontario. Looking ahead, the initiative will grow to include more communities and a new telephone financial helpline, enhancing access to crucial financial services and supporting thousands more in achieving greater financial security and independence.
